The Fly Me to the Moon facial from Spa Violet is an amazing San Diego spa experience that left my skin glowing and feeling radiant. My session began by relaxing in Spa Violet's eucalyptus steam room. Although I must admit it took a few minutes to conquer claustrophobia, it was a refreshing steam experience that opened my pores and prepared my skin.

Tip: To avoid feeling suffocated, run the cool shower over you during the steaming process.

Following the steam room, I was escorted to a Spa Violet treatment room for the Fly Me to the Moon facial. And for the next 90 minutes I relaxed to gentle guitar sounds under warm blankets surrounded by scents of grapefruit and vanilla. Spa Violet aesthetician, Kiesha, began by cleansing and exfoliating my skin with a variety of Dermologica products, their preferred skin care line.

After my facial detox, Kiesha extracted impurities from my pores and completed my treatment by applying a multi-vitamin power recovery mask on my face. Oh, and did I mention that Fly Me to the Moon facial also includes a hand or foot massage? My feet are a bit too ticklish, so I opted for a hand massage that left my skin velvety smooth.

My overall facial and massage experience was more than pleasant. Everyone at Spa Violet is friendly, knowledgeable, and down-to-earth. They are not a swanky spa, but rather a fun and hip establishment that also features microdermabrasion parties, brow bar parties, and happy hour manicure specials.
