Claire de Lune: More Than Coffee

Published : 2/1/2007 by Michelle Guerin

When choosing where to meet your date for coffee, remember—there’s a Starbucks on every corner. Instead, take your date to Claire de Lune, North Park’s hip espresso parlor. Claire de Lune prides itself on being way more than just an average coffee shop—it’s a two-story antique coffee lounge with high ceilings, gorgeous windows, and urban art. Order your drink of choice, sit back, relax, and enjoy the great company.

Claire de Lune is a place where friends, neighbors and lovebirds alike join together to share stories, music, poetry and a good cup of coffee. In addition to specialty espresso beverages, Claire de Lune offers a breakfast, lunch, and light dinner menu, including homemade soups, salads, sandwiches and, of course, dessert. Although Claire de Lune is all about community, you and your date can seek privacy on the outside patio,  plush indoor couches or hidden corners upstairs.

Other San Diego coffee shops

can't compare! This place is great and if all the starbucks could be replaced by coffee shops like this it would be awesome. I'm not a starbucks hater at all, I'm sure I've drank 20 gallons of their coffee, but I just love the uniqueness of places like Claire.

I will check it!

I will definitely check this place out! I love coffeeshops, especially on a beautiful day in San Diego. Maybe I'll put something about it on my site! Thanks for the suggestions!

sounds good for a coffee date

I love charming coffee shops. I also currently do a lot of online dating, as I have been single for just over a year and finally over my last break up. Coffee shops are a great place to meet people from the world wide web, and this one looks perfect. I have a date later this week from a coffee dating website called It's Just Coffee. I will suggest meeting here to her. I also like meeting at a cafe in Del Mar, but I forgot the name of it. Best, Matt
