Making out is fun. Making out is important. Making out provides an emotional connection to a point in the universe.
If you grew up in San Diego, you might have made out for the first time at Aquarius, the beloved La Mesa Roller Skating Rink. You probably met someone during the backward skate, shared cotton candy, and then stuck your tongue down his or her throat while wondering if you were doing it right. After that sacred space was torn down and replaced with a Chevy dealership, you might have sworn to never buy a Chevy on principle, because Aquarius meant something.
Fortunately, these Make-out Spots in San Diego are safe for making kissing memories because they will never go away:
Balboa Park
The Balboa Park botanical gardens are nice. But if you really want to feel something special, go find the guy who plays guitar with his feet, request "Knocking On Heaven's Door" and let whatever is going to happen, happen.
Sea World
The Penguin Encounter at Sea World San Diego is cold and smells like fish, but it's dark enough to try anything. After you visit the beer tasting room called Brew Masters, the damp setting seems to provide the perfect ambiance.
Mt Soledad
The Mt. Soledad Cross is a controversial issue that never seems to go away. However, debating on whether or not the Soledad Cross should be there can give you a chance to find out more about the person you're sharing spit with. If you are a San Diego local (and you rule), Mt. Soledad is the one place in San Diego where you're supposed to make out at least once. Every native San Diegan should have a story that sounds like this: We made out under the cross, we looked at the freeways, the cops came, and then we got burritos.
For locals, 85 percent of stories in San Diego end at taco shops. Although it's probably a good idea to make out before, instead of afterwards.
