When it comes to dating in San Diego, every individual is at a different stage of knowledge and self-awareness. With each of my clients, the first step is to analyze dating history and then find the ways to maximize ultimate potential.
In the field of Communications, there is a concept called the Communicative Competence Theory, which places an individual in to four categories of competency. I have adapted this theory by applying the essential framework to the process of courtship.
The first of the four categories is that of unconscious incompetence. This is an individual pop culture would deem clueless. They don't know what they're doing or how they're doing it wrong! The second is conscious incompetence, which makes up a majority of the population. This when you know you are doing something wrong but are not sure how to fix it.
The third, and ideal, category is conscious competence. This is an individual that is knowledgeable to the intricacies of courtship and executes him or herself in the best manner possible. The fourth is that of unconscious competence. This is a person that was born with natural charisma and confidence. Although this category sounds the best, it is not always the most effective.
When it comes to courtship, conscious competence is the ideal stage of competence. So, how do you reach that level? Well, that is why I am here!
