Avenue 5 is Banker Hill's hottest new uptown culinary experience, but it is Chef Colin MacLaggan's innovative palate and passionate vision that sets Avenue 5 apart from the rest of downtown San Diego restaurants. Although you've probably already tasted his food, you may not know much about the man behind the chef's hat.

Colin's coy smile and calm manner are as comforting as his creations. Although he has been classically trained by the best in the industry, it is his modest nature that is most refreshing. This air of humility also carries over into his love life. In describing his dream girl, he desires a girl who understands him, can share in his dreams, and be a true best friend.

It is a common conception that the hours of the restaurant industry are difficult for dating and meeting girls, but Colin says that he doesn't feel at all weighed down by that fact and enjoys nights out when he can find the time.
