Ring in 2008 with the 20th annual San Diego Boat Show. From January 3-6, 2008 the show will host 500 of the latest boats and show off the coolest marine accessories at the San Diego Convention Center and Marriott Marina.
At the in-water display at the marina, guests can tour over 100 of the latest yachts, sail and power boats. You can even experience a free sailboat ride out in San Diego Bay. If you stop by the "Take Me Fishing Center" you can wet a line at the casting pond, check out the fishing information stations, view the mobile aquarium and even participate in daily casting and fishing seminars. And don't forget to pick up your free Personal Flotation Device. Allstate is giving away life jackets Saturday and Sunday while supplies last, so get there early.
For many San Diegans all this is merely a set for the real star of the show: Twiggy the lovable water-skiing squirrel. Twiggy has been seen on the Tonight Show, The Late Show with David Letterman, CNN, Good Morning America and in countless motion pictures including Anchorman staring Will Ferrell. Twiggy will be located in the Big Bay Kid area, at the San Diego Convention Center, wearing his custom Personal Flotation Device. This one of a kind animal stunt show is included with your boat show admission. Don't miss your chance to see Twiggy perform live this weekend.
Tickets to the San Diego Boat Show are $10, unless you're under 12, a fire fighter, active duty military, or a combination of the 3 - then it's free. For more information, visit sandiegoboatshow.com.
