Posted On : 6/10/2008 by Angella d’Avignon

Eating out never tasted so good at the San Diego Taste of Gaslamp, held on Father's Day weekend, Saturday and Sunday, June 14 and 15.

The Gaslamp Quarter is already home to some of the finest restaurants in San Diego. With almost every eatery door open in the historic square, your dining pleasure is guaranteed at this tasty annual event.

Begin the weekend on Saturday with a palate cleanse infused with various flavors of gelato made with the freshest of ingredients from Gelateria Frizzante which opens from noon to 2pm for Taste of Gaslamp patrons only. Next up on Saturday afternoon, sample snacks from fabulous San Diego dining destinations such as Mister Tiki Mai Tai Lounge, Red Circle, Soleil @k, Stingaree and more. Finish off your Saturday in style at the San Diego Wine & Culinary Center with special after hours wine tasting from 4 to 6pm.

Return on Sunday afternoon for more taste bud overload from Blue Point Coastal Cuisine, Bondi Australian Restaurant and Bar, Dakota Grill, La Puerta and more. And Sunday evening guides guests through a special after hours tasting at the merK, the soon-to-be new restaurant at the illustrious Keating Hotel available for Taste of Gaslamp guests only. Also make sure to check out the special Beer Tasting Garden, sponsored by the Samuel Adams family of fine beers.

Check in at noon on Saturday and begin tasting at 1pm. Tickets are only $25 per person, per day, and the event features over 40 award-winning restaurants as well as special after hours events and beer garden hospitality. Taste the best of downtown restaurants, pick up coupons, make valuable connections, and enjoy the heat that rises from the acclaimed dining scene in the Gaslamp Quarter.
