The San Diego Celebrity Classic returns April 23-26, 2009 in its 11th year of success.

Since 1999, the Tournament has featured some of the most recognizable names in sports and entertainment. Now, the 2009 San Diego Celebrity Classic is rapidly approaching. Over 50 celebrities from the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB as well as Olympians and stars from television, music, and motion pictures will come together at Morgan Run Resort & Club.

Celebrities scheduled to attend this year’s tournament include Jerry Rice, Drew Brees, Ray Romano, Goose Gossage, Rollie Fingers, Alfonso Ribeiro, Bode Miller, Elvis Grbac and many more! Whether you are a sports fan or television buff, guests can enjoy the fan friendly environment and interact with their favorite celebrities.

Giving Back
The Celebrity Classic’s beneficiary is once again Rady Children’s Hospital - San Diego. Auction proceeds and ticket sales revenue from this year’s Tournament will support the Brooke Humphries Fund, established by the San Diego Chargers in honor of former quarterback, Stan Humphries’ daughter, Brooke. The Tournament has raised nearly $1,000,000 for local San Diego charities.

The Celebrity Classic will celebrate Military Appreciation Day for the fourth consecutive year. The tournament will dedicate Sunday, April 26th to honoring all the brave citizens serving at home and abroad in our Armed Services. As a special thank you, all San Diego active and retired Military who show military I.D. will receive free admission, and the opportunity to participate in special promotions.

Fun for Fans
Fans in attendance will not only have the opportunity to meet and receive free autographs from sports heroes and celebrities; they will also have a chance to participate in contests such as the “Chip for a Trip Challenge” and “Putt for a Car Contest.”

The tournament also hosts a Celebrity Dinner Gala on Saturday, April 25th where celebrities get together to enjoy a hosted bar, catered dinner, live entertainment, and both a live and silent charity auction with proceeds benefiting Rady Children’s Hospital.

The general public is welcomed to all three days of the tournament. Children under 10 and guests with military I.D. get in free.
