2010 ShamROCK: A Green Carpet Event

Go Green or Go Home: Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day. If you’re looking for the wildest party this side of Dublin, grab your green hat and head to the Gaslamp Quarter for ShamROCK 2010!

Miller Lite ShamROCK, presented by Jameson Irish Whiskey and The Field, is one of downtown San Diego’s largest block parties of the year, and definitely the most colorful.

On Wednesday, March 17th, In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, the Gaslamp Quarter is rolling out over 60,000 square feet of Kelly Green Astroturf, setting the stage for modern twists on traditional Irish celebrations. ShamROCK party perks include three stages of live music, Irish bands (including Young Dubliners!), local DJs, go-go dancers, authentic Irish fayre, all the flowing green beer and whiskey you can handle, and an expected crowd of over 20,000 high-energy local attendees.

Where to be, who to see: ShamROCK is set to rock the Gaslamp with three stages of live entertainment. Kick off all the green action on the Main Stage with Irish Folk Rock from the ShamROCKers from 4-5pm, then join in and dance a jig with traditional Irish Step Dancers from 5-5:30pm, and again from 6:30-7pm. Don’t get too winded though because The Fooks are up from 5:30-6:30pm with rock-n-rowdy versions of Irish pub songs. Head back to the Main Stage from 6-8:30pm for the world famous and awesomely irreverent Young Dubliners! Wind down from the Irish rock frenzy from 9-10pm with No Duh, a No Doubt cover band. Closing out the evening will be San Diego’s favorite Irish Punk Rock band, the Down’s Family from 10:30-11:30pm. And spinning between sets will be San Diego's own DJ BDP!

ShamROCK DJ Map: The Field and the DJ Stage will feature some of your favorite DJs spinning all night long. The Field stage will play host to DJ Brent Bartel from 4-8pm and from 8pm-Midnight will be DJ G*ROY. Back over at the DJ Stage, from 4-6:30pm, DJ BDP will be spinning his own versions of old school hip-hop, mash ups and dirty electro. From 6:30-8:30pm DJ Who will get you moving with electronic, rock and hip-hop beats. Next up, DJ Marc Thrasher will spin his innovative blend of commercial, R&B, rock, hip-hop, trance, top 40, disco-funk and new wave. And for the finale show, DJ Brent Bartel will entertain with his hip-hop, house, and mash-ups from 10:30pm-Midnight.

ShamROCK 2010 is on Wednesday, March 17th, from 4pm to midnight. The event takes place in the Gaslamp Quarter, on “F” street between 5th and 7th Avenues, 6th Avenue between E and G Streets and G Street between 5th and 6th Avenues in the Gaslamp Quarter. The main entrance is located at 5th and G Street.
