Ocean Beach Holiday Parade

Posted On : 11/16/2011 by Kseniya Bublikova

Christmas festivities will soon be in full effect and one of the best ways to join in on the community fun and show holiday cheer is to attend the only nighttime parade in all of San Diego. The OB Holiday Parade has been a San Diego tradition for over 30 years and is set place to start at 5:05pm on Saturday, December 3rd.

Ocean Beach has long been known as a unique community all about having a good time and spreading good cheer, and they welcome everyone to attend. Viewers will be gathered on Newport Avenue to watch the incredible and colorful creations people have put together in celebration of the holidays.

Come join the fun and watch as local families and businesses hand craft floats like no other, also featuring marching bands, roller derby gals, motorcycle riding dogs and antique cars. Santa can be seen riding upon a fire truck, along with garlands and wreaths galore. Many people attending will be donning costumes so feel free to add your own quirky twist to this holiday event. Following the parade, everyone is invited to stay and keep the party going. OB bars and restaurants will be celebrating all night, with locals and guests making their way down Newport Avenue.

Want in? For those who wish to be in the parade themselves; submit your applications to obtowncouncil.org by November 20th and you may get a chance to win one of the parade participation awards.
