Summer music festival season is in full swing. We’ve barely recovered from Coachella in April, yet are already battling the online crowds for 2013 pre-sale tickets. Next up on our radar is the Electric Daisy Carnival which is set to invade a little place we like to call Sin City. Get ready for three days and three nights of electronic dance music on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Friday, June 8 – Sunday, June 10.
On the EDC Las Vegas 2012 lineup are big name DJs with mass appeal: Tiesto, Avicii, Afrojack, Calvin Harris, Kaskade, David Guetta, Steve Aoki and two-thirds of Swedish House Mafia -- Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello. More electronic acts we’re excited about include Bassnectar, Digitalism, Dada Life, Dirty South, Little Boots, Pretty Lights, Laidback Luke and the hip-hop crossover, will.i.am. The dirty bass will bounce off six different music areas.
And as the name implies, EDC offers much more than music. It’s a true carnival, with on-site carnival rides and art installations enhancing the already elaborate performance stages. Get ready for an illuminated Ferris wheel, fire displays, water works and theatrical special effects spread throughout the 1,000-acre outdoor speedway setting, which is located off the strip on the outskirts of Las Vegas.
2012 EDC takes over the Las Vegas Motor Speedway June 8 – 10 from 7:30pm to 5:30am each day. General admission three-day passes are priced at $275, with a VIP three-day package available for $500. EDC is an 18+ event, with designated drinking areas for 21+ guests. EDC also travels to New York and Puerto Rico. For tickets, the full lineup and festival guidelines, visit electricdaisycarnival.com
