Oceans Benefit Gala

A walk along Sunset Cliffs sends chills down your spine; a dinner at Sea Rocket Bistro stuffs and satisfies your stomach. The big blue ocean is a vital aspect of San Diego lifestyle, playing a considerable role in all we do and all that we consume.

The San Diego Ocean Foundation celebrates and recognizes the ocean’s magnitude in the community with the 27th Annual Oceans Benefit Gala on Thursday, April 26th from 6-10pm.

Inside of the Turtle Reef and Shark Encounter Exhibits of SeaWorld, guests are invited to honor the deep blue sea and salute the efforts being made to sustain its splendor. And what better way to extend gratitude than through chowing down on some sustainable seafood creations?

In place of a formal sit-down dinner, guests will float from station to station where 15+ San Diego chefs will present their finest fish dishes. Interact with the talents and tastes from Andrew Spurgin, Executive Chef/Partner at Campine, Jeff Roberto of Sushi on a Roll, Chad White of Gabardine, Paul Arias of The Fishery, Bernard Guillas of La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, James Rauh of The West Bean, Nanami Koshiba of Azuki Sushi, Tommy Fraioli of Sea Rocket Bistro, Oliver Bioteau of Farm House Café, Aaron LaMonica of Tiger! Tiger!, Tommy Gomes of Catalina Offshore Productions, Mitch Conniff of Mitch’s Seafood, Dustin Beckner of Quality Social, Jeff Rossman of Terra American Bistro, and Katherine Humphus of BO-beau Kitchen + Bar

Karl Strauss Brewing Company and Vesper Vineyards will host the drinks for the night. Between seafood and sips, guests will learn about current ocean issues, participate in live animal interactions, enjoy musical entertainment and participate in a silent auction. The Gala will also present the annual Dr. Roger Revelle Awards and Ocean Leadership Awards.

The Ocean Foundation hopes guests will leave with a better understanding of local restaurants' efforts in sustainability, the Foundation’s work, community-supported projects, and commitments for the years to come. The Benefit Gala is the organization’s largest fundraising event of the year.

Tickets for the 27th Annual Oceans Benefit Gala are $150. For more information, visit sdoceans.org.
