More than 25 teams will be competing in the 29th annual Ocean Beach Street Fair and Chili Cook-off festival, this Saturday June 28th from 10am to 8pm.
More than a music festival, this event features local performing and visual artists and of course, good eats from morning 'til night. Enjoy five stages of music including the Wonderland Acoustic stage, featuring Jason Ott, Jefferson Ott, and Phil Harmonic and Tipsy Holiday. On the 92107 Stage tune your ears to the sounds of the Hip Replacements, Blackbirdz, and The Chi Club, and at the Artists Alley Stage hear Middle Earth and at the Bacon Street Sun Stage enjoy Gadly, among many others.
Come paint with your friends at the Community Mural Project to create a one of a kind neighborhood masterpiece. Play at the Nicita Carnival (located in 3 parking lots) next to Starbucks) which offers rides for kids young and old.
By far the quirkiest and most entertaining part of the evening will be the highly anticipated Chili Cook-off from 10am to 3pm at the foot of Newport Avenue. Less than professional, these curious cooks will put their beans to the test with original recipes. Come early so you can taste each one.
Not a fan of chili? Not a problem. Vendor booths full of delicious morsels are waiting for you to sample while you stroll seaside. A raffle, a climbing wall, and of course a Beachside Beer Garden and Liquorland will keep your thirst and boredom at bay.
Ocean Beach is a community notorious for having way too much fun, so get yourself down to the beach this Saturday, June 28th for this long awaited annual event.
