Pacific Beach Point
Head to Pacific Beach Point when the tide is at an all-time low. Private tide pools flourish.

Ocean Beach
Ocean Beach tide pools, south of the Ocean Beach Pier, are easily accessible and serve as a great local for first-time tide pooling.

Point Loma
Venture west of Cabrillo National Monument for guided tide-pool tours or independent adventures.

San Diego Tidepools, La Jolla Cove

Haha! Good times at the Tidepools at Bird Rock. I had to do a project for environmental science and we filmd it at La Jolla Cove- one of the girls wasn't too smart and fell down in the water. No creatures were hurt during the middle of the production!! La Jolla Cove was a close second for our tide pool of choice-- and Cabrillo, that's just sweet. After you're done visiting the tidepool, visit the monument!

More San Diego Tide Pools in North County

We also enjoy some of the San Diego Tide Pools in North County. There is one at Swami's in Encinitas and one north of Tide Park in Solana Beach. I'm also compiled a list of the best time to visit the tidepools in fall and winter during the minus tides.
