One of the most awesomely bizarre events in the nation is finally making its debut stop in San Diego on June 25, 2009. Locals, start practicing your best pelvic thrusts and get ready to lose your air virginity at the Air Sex World Championships, San Diego style.

If you’ve never seen the Air Sex show before, here is what you need to know: it’s a lot like Air Guitar, but you’re making sweet love with an imaginary sex partner rather than rocking out with an imaginary guitar. It’s a simple change that makes all the difference. Brave contestants will choose a clip of music and a costume theme that reflects their air sex style. Then on June 25, they will come up on stage and show everyone how it’s done. The event encourages you to get creative and make your routine based on fantasies you wish you could live or funny memories you wish you could forget.
