Give: Art & Elegance at The Westgate Hotel

Every spring, San Diego’s culture abundant community of Little Italy hosts the annual Mission Federal ArtWalk festival which showcases everything from paintings and sculpture to dance and beyond.

Time and time again, the savvy outdoor urban festival draws a wealth of attention and success. And since we art-loving locals can’t bear to wait until this year’s outdoor showcase on April 30th, we have the lucky privilege of getting a firsthand preview of some of the finest art from highly praised ArtWalk artisans.   

On Friday, March 18th, locals with an appetite for artistic saturation will flock to San Diego’s regal Westgate Hotel for the Art & Elegance showcase, an annual charity event held in conjunction with Mission Federal ArtWalk.

This exquisite night of art will transform the Westgate’s opulent Versailles Ballroom into a one-of-a-kind gallery showcasing works from participating and partnering ArtWalk galleries including Exclusive Collections, Noel Baza Fine Art, Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Art, and Alexander Salazar Fine Art. From 6pm-8pm in the opulent Versailles Ballroom, guests will have the opportunity to view artwork and watch as artists from each of the four galleries create beautiful illustrations and sculptures. In addition, the highly anticipated evening of art will include a silent auction of original artwork that will benefit San Diego’s non-profit organization ArtReach.

ArtReach was spawned in 2007 by the team that brings Mission Federal ArtWalk to the streets of Little Italy every spring. Created in response to the lack of art education in schools due to budget cuts, ArtReach allows artists with teaching skills the opportunity to share their talent and enthusiasm with San Diego County elementary students through standards-based, hands-on instruction for an entire school or grade-specific workshops.
