One of the most dynamic and growing museums in the region, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego now has three venues: its original site in La Jolla overlooking the cove, and two sites in downtown SD, across the street from one another on Kettner. The newest one, opened in January 2007, occupies a renovated, state-of-the-art facility in the former Santa Fe Depot baggage building.
Some of the most noteworthy icons of contemporary art and emerging artists of today are found in MCASD’s collection, which features art made since 1950 in all media and genres by artists from all over the globe.
