Take a walk on the bay side September 12 and 13 to admire hundreds of pieces of stunning artwork from regional artists set before the downtown skyline.

Sculpting the atmosphere for its 4th year in commission, San Diego ArtWalk on the Bay has sectioned off 8 acres of picturesque Embarcadero Marina Park North with plans to transform it into an arts festival enjoyed by a projected 30,000 guests of all ages. Embarcadero Marina Park is situated behind Seaport Village and will provide participants plentiful space to scope out the best paintings, glasswork and fine jewelry designs surrounded by a beautiful city landscape.

Created in 2006 as an extension of the popular Mission Federal ArtWalk, ArtWalk on the Bay boasts the gorgeous work of regional artists, musicians and performers. The festival creates an intimate environment in which participants can interact with and get to know the artists.

New to the festival this year is the Bay Lounge which will boast a signature Bloody Mary cocktail and frosty beer and wine to guests over 21 years of age. All proceeds from the Bay Lounge will benefit ArtReach, a 501c3 art education program. Since 100% of profits go to a great cause, guests shouldn’t be shy about having a drink before sundown.

For the younger art enthusiasts, ArtWalk presents KidsWalk. Also located in Embarcadero Marina Park North, KidsWalk offers fun and creative hands-on projects for children. From decorating mini origami kites for donation to creating art with recycled and reclaimed items to making your own instrument, Kidswalk has activities for all children.

In addition to KidsWalk and the Bay Lounge, ArtWalk has other exciting events planned including the Subaru sponsored “Art Car” in which a new model of the Subaru Outback will be decorated by local artists and children. Also in store for guests is the unveiling of the “Urban Trees 6” Exhibit which is an oversized sculpture display. This will take place September 12 at 10:00 a.m. at the B Street Cruise Terminal. Those who attend can take the ArtWalk on the Bay shuttle back to the park.
