Don't worry about using your indoor voice at San Diego's second annual ArtWalk on the Bay, brightening Embarcadero Marina Park North on the weekend of September 8th.
San Diego Art Walks aren't silent museum strolls--they're lively outdoor adventures, at which children are welcome and whispering isn't even an option. The San Diego Bay and Seaport Village create a dazzling backdrop for a free event that's all about beauty, fun, and inimitable San Diego culture.
The event is produced by the same team of art-lovers who manage the wildly successful ArtWalk in Little Italy, founded 23 years ago. Their mission: "To create an environment designed to introduce Southern Californians to original art, to provide attendees with the opportunity to meet the artists and to purchase art directly from the artists." But the event sprawls beyond two dimensions with live music, dancing, and kids' crafts and activities sponsored by the Birch Aquarium and the San Diego Museum of Art, among others.
The Art Walk is easily accessible by the San Diego trolley. Learn more about ArtWalk on the Bay at www.artwalkonthebay.org. If you're interested in volunteering, contact cdebello@artwalksandiego.org.
