Mrs. Carter: Beyonce's Super San Diego Snub?

Beyoncé didn't wait very long after her high-octane Sunday Super Bowl halftime performance to start getting some major promotional mileage out of it.

 

Within a matter of hours, she had announced the itinerary for her upcoming "The Mrs. Carter World Tour," which kicks off April 15 in Serbia and starts its U.S. leg June 26 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. (The tour takes its name from the fact Beyoncé is married to hip-hop superstar Jay-Z, whose legal name is Shawn Carter.) Tickets for the L.A. show go on sale Feb. 11 to the general public.

 

Will Beyoncé's tour be stopping in San Diego? Not according to her itinerary, which shows her performing June 29 in Las Vegas and July 2 in San Jose before heading to Oklahoma, Texas, and then making her way east and north. (The tour concludes Aug. 3 in Brooklyn.)

 

That's the bad news, barring any more California dates being added to Beyoncé's tour. The good news is that Alicia Keys, who opened Sunday's Superbowl with a slow, sultry version of the national anthem, is performing here March 13 at Valley View Casino Center (formerly the San Diego Sports Arena). Keys' show at Valley View is part of her "Set the World on Fire" tour.
