San Diego 4th and B presents comedian Bob Saget at 8pm on Friday, March 12, 2008. It'll cost you $35-$45 to get in the door, but it's worth it - if Saget's what you're looking for.
Most of us remember Bob Saget as the all American single dad leading a 3 man team raising 3 little girls on TGIF's "Full House." His wholesome good natured humor warmed the hearts of Americans from coast to coast for nearly a decade in the late '80s, and continued into the early nineties. After that he hosted and voiced the family-friendly "America's Funniest Home Videos" for another 8 years where the raciest (and funniest) thing would be the occasional shot to the balls thus cementing his squeaky clean image to all of humanity.
Rumors circulated about his stand-up act for years - that somehow milk-toast Bob was the filthiest mouth around. It was hard to believe, until "The Aristocrats." "The Aristocrats" is a movie of several comedians telling a joke by the same name. The beginning and end are identical but the middle is improvised with the dirtiest filler imaginable. On 9 out of 10 score cards - Saget takes it.
Billed as the "Good Guy Gone Wrong," he uses this weird conflict of image with personality to his comedic advantage. For an idea of what to expect, check out his HBO special "That Ain't Right" and Jamie Kennedy's "Rolling with Saget." He's out to prove he's the illest mother f***er in a cardigan sweater.
You've been warned.
