Can't-Miss Comedy: Jerry Seinfeld, Jeff Ross, Bob Golub

There’s nothing like a good laugh to break you out of the bad-weather blues, and the local line-up this winter is enough to get anyone giggling. From big names such as Jerry Seinfeld to fan favorites like Anjelah Johnson, there will be enough material to leave you smiling all the way until summer. To help you increase your dose of laughter medicine, we compiled a list of upcoming San Diego comedy shows.

Jerry Seinfeld, actor, producer, writer and all around world-renowned funny guy, will be performing live at the Civic Theatre on January 7th. Seinfeld won our hearts with his semi-fictional role in the self-titled series, co-created and co-written with Larry David. He will host two back to back performances, one at 7pm and the next at 9:30pm. Jeff Ross will be at the House of Blues on January 28th at 7pm. This roast-master extraordinaire is famous for nine comedy central roasts in a row, having made fun of such famous folks as Pamela Anderson, Flava Flav, Bob Saget, David Hasselhof, William Shatner and Joan Rivers. Anjelah Johnson, actress and comedienne, will be performing at the Balboa Theatre on February 11th at 8pm. Most known for her roles on MADtv, Johnson also appeared in Our Family Wedding, Ugly Betty and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel. Mark Christopher Lawrence will be hosting A Night of Comedy at the House of Blues on December 14th at 6:30pm. Lawrence has co-starred in many movies in his time, such as Planet of the Apes, Terminator 2: Judgment Day and The Pursuit of Happyness, along with major TV shows including My Name is Earl, Dharma & Greg, Malcolm in the Middle, Seinfield, Heroes and more. Bob Golub will perform at the New Year’s Eve Comedy Show taking place at the New York Comedy Club San Diego inside the Four Points Sheraton, the club he opened earlier this year. Golub is most revered for his roles in Goodfella’s and The Tonight Show.
