Before all eyes turn towards the runway, Fashion Valley Mall and Hard Rock Hotel San Diego ask San Diego to look first at their neighbors in need.
In preparation for Fashion’s Night Out on September 6, the two lifestyle hubs have organized a clothing drive to benefit Father Joe’s Villages. Dubbed COMPASSION ROCKS, locals can donate their new or slightly used clothing items from Thursday, August 30 to Wednesday, September 12 at various convenient locations.
The two-week campaign will invite all to see fashion serving a greater purpose. Father Joe's Villages use donated items to help serve more than 1,200 homeless individuals every day. Each donation, whether one t-shirt or half a closet, makes a difference. Professional attire that can be used by those in the “Dress for Success” program is especially welcomed. Any items received not provided to a Father Joe’s Village client living at one of the Village locations will be reviewed to sell at one of the FJV retail stores. Those designer jeans you only wore once? Let them go. The jacket that doesn’t fit quite right? Let it fit someone else.
The first 50 attendees who donate new or gently used clothing for the COMPASSION ROCKS Clothing Drive will have the chance to sit in one of the 50 front row seats Fashion’s Night Out.
Giveaway: Are you a rock star donator? Anyone showing their act of compassion will be eligible to win a grand rock star vacation prize. In order to win, you must snap a photo of yourself as you donate, then email or upload to the COMPASSION ROCKS Facebook contest page. Prizes include a two-night stay in a premium Rock Star Suite at Hard Rock Hotel San Diego, a two night stay at Hotel Adagio in San Francisco or a two-night stay on The Queen Mary docked in Long Beach Harbor.
The first annual COMPASSION ROCKS Clothing Drive is an opportunity for San Diegans to help meet the critical needs of more than 9,600 homeless neighbors. For more information, please visit: CompassionRocksGiving.com
