Chances are, tickets to 2011 Comic Con will be sold out before I finish writing this sentence. But even if you can’t snag tickets in time, you’re guaranteed to have more than enough free and accessible pop culture fun at your fingertips come next summer.
If you don’t believe me, then you obviously weren't part of the madness that was 2010 Comic Con in San Diego. All pen-to-the-eye stabbing aside, Comic Con was an incredible success, bringing in thousands of pop culture fanatics to our otherwise mellow city.
Celebrities in San Diego: 2010 Comic Con attracted more celebrities than ever before. Just a few of the high-profile celebrities include Angelina Jolie, Will Ferrell, Sylvester Stalone, Blake Lively, David Duchovny, Jeff Bridges, Natalie Portman, Liv Tyler, Sigourney Weaver, Bruce Willis, Nic Cage, Ziggy Marley, Adam Baldwin, Seth Green, Morena Baccarin, Mary Louise Parker, Helen Mirren, Jerry O’Connell, Ray Bradbury, Stan Lee and J Michael Starczynski, among others.
OK so yes it does suck if you didn’t get a chance to mingle with the stars and get your forehead autographed inside the Convention Center. But, even ticketless fans managed to have a ball with a wild array of pop culture inspired Comic Con events and after parties. And those locals who live or work downtown will agree with me that walking a few blocks across the Gaslamp this weekend was like running through a Haunted House during Halloween season. From superheroes to zombies, I sure got my Comic Con curiosity satiated by just checking out the downtown scene and people-watching like it was my job. If you missed out, live vicariously through the eyes of DiscoverSD.com.
