If the phrase “party time, excellent” means anything to you, you may want to consider your role in helping the Rady Children’s Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.
There’s something completely endearing about a comedian with a cause, and when that comedian is Emmy award-winning SNL alum Dana Carvey, fundraising events get lifted to a whole new level of awesome.
If it’s not Wayne’s World that keeps Dana Carvey a fixture near and dear to your heart, you’re bound to recall some of his political impersonations throughout his seven year career at “Saturday Night Live”. George Bush, Jimmy Carter, and Ross Perot skits all made Carvey a household name, and a comedian with well-deserved respect and brilliance.
Laugh for a Cause: Carvey’s unrestrained comedic style storms the stage of The Grand Del Mar on Saturday, March 12th as part of the Rancho Santa Fe Unit of Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary fundraising event: Stand Up for Rady Children’s Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, an Evening With Dana Carvey.
Guests of the 15th annual fundraising event are invited to enjoy Carvey’s most memorable characters come alive on stage while supporting a vital medical cause for children. The evening of endless laughs will begin with a silent auction including elegant cocktails and an informal dinner atmosphere showcasing a variety of food station selections. After the food and drinks have settled in, attendees will be seated for an hour-long Dana Carvey comedic routine, full of classic impressions and hilarious bits that have earned him a spot amongst the greatest on Comedy Central’s 100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time. Dessert and dancing are promised to entertain until the midnight hour.
Dana Carvey’s stand up for Rady Children’s Hospital benefits this non-profit community-based healthcare organization, serving San Diego, Imperial and south Riverside counties with a population of more than 760,000 children under the age of 17. Their long-term commitment to sustain excellent health care for children in the San Diego community has become one of the most crucial causes to respond to in our area. The partnership with Carvey’s most excellent humor will be one of benevolent proportions.
