When you’re trying to figure out what to do in San Diego, your brainwaves might only pick up vibes from the beach—but there are plenty of fun things to do off the sand. Belmont Park is just seconds from shore, but offers a multitude of ways to spend a day on dry land.
Belmont Park is a beachfront amusement park on the boardwalk, just south of Pacific Beach. Nestled right in between Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean, Belmont Park is an on-land oasis that features fun for all ages. The main attraction is the historic Giant Dipper roller coaster, which has lived a fruitful life of ups and downs since its opening in 1925.
Belmont Park also features rides such as The Liberty Carousel, The Vertical Plunge, and Speeday Bumper Cars. For more excitement, visitors can play a game of skeeball in the Arcade, buy new beach gear at Sun Diego, get in summer-shape at The Wave House, or relax with a cool drink atop the balcony at Canes’ Bar and Grill.
