Bear with me for a moment. I want you to think back to the "Wedding Singer." Yes, that 1998 Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore romantic comedy set in the '80s.
Remember when Sandler runs up to the gate at the airport to buy a plane ticket and the clerk asks him: "Hey, do you like Flock of Sea Gulls?" Well, the clerk's 'do is exactly what your hair needs to look like for this event. Rent it. Pause it on your laptop, print screen and take it to your stylist.
This is one of those San Diego concerts that is less about the music and more about dressing up for the spectacle of the show. Bust out those leg warmers and scrunches. Cut the neck out and sleeves off your grey sweet shirt and find a fanny pack. Most importantly, find a group of friends and buy your tickets as a pack - there's strength in numbers.
Flock of Sea Gulls and Dramarama team up for an '80s flash back of "Surreal Life" proportions at 7pm on Sunday March 30th at the San Diego House of Blues. It's $23.50 a ticket, you have to be over 21 to get in and over 31 to actually remember any of the songs.
Since you'll all look ridiculous, you might want to restrict contact with the outside world on the night of the show. Lucky for you the House of Blues has everything you need for a complete night out. Get there a couple hours before the show and enjoy some cocktails and comfort food. You'll be able to flow seamlessly from restaurant to concert without even stepping outside. And, they let you bypass the line with purchase of dinner.
