Being an avid connoisseur of beer (and alcoholic beverages in general), I am bouncing off the walls with excitement knowing that by this time next week, I will be swindling brews at the finest pubs, beerhalls and beer gardens that Munich has to offer. I know, I know, it’s hard work, but someone’s gotta do it!
If you also have a passion for handcrafted delicious ales, but don’t have the time to jet set to Germany, don’t worry. You needn’t look far to find some of best tasting brews in the world.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last several years, local beer enthusiasts know that San Diego has established itself as a heavy-hitter in world of craft beer. Because our beer is oh-so-splendiferously-delicious, Phileas Foggs will host the inaugural four-day Fogg-a-Palooza from Thursday, June 2nd through Sunday, June 5th, in celebration of San Diego’s thriving craft beer scene. Throughout the course of the four-day event, attendees will have the opportunity to sip, sample and savor a bounty of beers from local craft breweries, including:

In addition, Phileas will unveil the first official keg to be released by Hess Brewing – rumor has it that it will be their awesome Grazias Vienna Cream Ale. Additional beers will be announced in the upcoming days prior to the event.
Along with all of the great items featured on the menu, Phileas will serve San Diego-inspired dishes including traditional fish tacos, crispy tacos, California burritos and more. Oh, and did we forget to mention that Phileas will be hosting nightly live music and Meet the Brewer events as well? On Thursday evening at 6pm, attendees will have the opportunity to sit down with James Murrey, the head brewmaster at Ballast Point, and ask him all kinds of questions on the beers and the beer making process; and on Saturday at 5pm, Paul Segura of Karl Strauss will be in the house to share his wealth of beer knowledge on minows and scholars alike.
