San Diego Film Festival (SDFF), a four-day celluloid fest dedicated to supporting diverse, independent films will take place at the Gaslamp Theater from September 25-28, 2008.
Celebrating its 7th anniversary, SDFF features 75 films including premieres from American and international features to documentaries, short films and music videos. Attendees can take part in educational panels, intimate filmmaker and celebrity gatherings and nightly parties that have earned SDFF "Best Party Fest" in The Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide. Past SDFF guests have included Joaquin Phoenix, James Woods, Zach Braff and many more. Past SDFF film premieres have featured Garden State, Napoleon Dynamite, Super-Size Me, and Hustle & Flow.
SDFF will launch three new film segments this year:
Green Screen: An interactive short documentary series featuring the simple things people around the world are doing to make our planet "green." The films highlight topics from global warming to recycling.
Little Critics: Curated by KIDS FIRST!, Little Critics is an interactive forum for new independent children's films.
Physical Graffiti: An action-sports film series featuring films, Q&A sessions with filmmakers and appearances by industry pros.
Panels and Workshops offered this year at SDFF include: The Secrets of Screenwriting from Page to Premiere, How to Deal with the Online Buzz Machine, How to Break into Film, and Making Movies in Your Own Backyard.
