City Chase is the only series of its kind, with more events spanning across the nation from New York City to Philadelphia and Chicago. Now in its second year in San Diego, City Chase is expected to transform our city into an urban jungle with clues and adventures around every corner. Through the lens of reality TV, City Chase has been compared to a real life mix of Fear Factor and The Amazing Race, where extreme physical and mental challenges bring out the best … and worst in contestants. 

First ChasePoint: What is City Chase?

This event requires participants to exhibit teamwork, resourcefulness, determination and the ability to make decisions on the fly as they search for ChasePoints scattered in unknown locations throughout the city. The event starts in Embarcadero Marina Park North, as teams of two receive a clue sheet detailing a variety of physical, intellectual and humorous challenges, designed to push comfort zones. 

The challenges are designed to test mind, body and spirit. To conquer this 4-6 hour urban event, teams will run, walk, crawl, and use the SD Metropolitan Transit System to navigate their way throughout the city, while calling family and friends for help, accessing the Internet, and even employing the assistance of total strangers. The first team to complete the ChasePoints and cross the finish line WINS and will advance to our North American Championship in Quebec City, Quebec.

The City Chase Journey

Though many serious athletes and competitors will be out and about for the event, City Chase is more about the journey than the destination. City Chase is intended as an enjoyable, interactive experience with elements of laughter, adventure and discovery. City Chase helps local participants rediscover the beauty of their city, with a racecourse that highlights and supports such landmarks as Balboa Park and the Embarcadero.
