New Influx Social Collective at Lux

The Lux Art Institute, known for innovative changes to the traditional museum experience, now introduces a brand new concept created to get younger people involved in art and culture. San Diego, meet Influx Social Collective, a fun and interactive new program designed to bring together people in their ‘20s and ‘30s to see the evolvement of the artistic process through engagement with acclaimed artists.

The Influx Social Collective free launch party will take place on Thursday, December 8th during Lux After Hours with the current resident artist, Emilio Perez (pictured). This event will feature champagne and a behind-the-scenes tour through his work from 7 to 8pm at Lux, with live music by Todo Mundo. Perez is famous for his thought-provoking visual art and unique process that uses latex, acrylics and layering. All guests are invited to stop by the Lux store, filled with unique holiday gift ideas by local San Diego artists.

Continue the night at Flavor Del Mar for the official after party hosted by Alex Yanaz and Sarah Dolgen. Enjoy Happy Hour specials all the way up until 10pm, for maximum mingling. Speaking of specials, this event is a great opportunity for those interested in becoming part of Influx, as Lux memberships will be offered at half the usual rate.

More upcoming museum events include a studio series with Emilio Perez on Dec. 6th, Lux@Night on Dec. 14th and Jan. 18th, and Lila Jang opening reception (members only) on Jan. 14th.
