Singer, songwriter, poet, three-time Grammy nominee and former San Diego resident, Jewel Kilcher, will serenade giving locals at the upcoming charity event Jewel – A Private Concert to Benefit Promises2Kids – at a private La Jolla estate on Monday, July 20, 2009.

Promises2Kids, formerly the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation, will host its first fundraising event of the year at the picturesque La Jolla Estate of Joan Waitt, Honorary Chair. Proceeds from the benefit concert will fund programs at Promises2Kids, a San Diego non-profit committed to mending the broken promises made to child abuse victims, one child at a time.

The Jewel – A Private Concert to Benefit Promises2Kids event will feature a VIP reception with hors d’ouvres catered by Trulucks begins at 6pm, followed by dinner and cocktails at 6:30pm, and the live auction and performance by artist Jewel beginning at 8:30pm. Complimentary valet service will be provided.

Promises2Kids has funded child abuse prevention, education and advocacy programs for more than 27 years. Its primary goals are to break the cycle of child abuse and neglect, and provide San Diego County’s foster children (approximately 7,000) with the tools, opportunities and guidance they need to address the circumstances which brought them into foster care, overcome those circumstances, and grow into healthy, happy and successful adults. 

The Jewel – A Private Concert to Benefit Promises2Kids event will be held on Monday, July 20 at the Estate of Joan Waitt located at 7243 Encelia Drive, La Jolla, CA 92037. Tickets are online and will also be available at the door, starting at $250 per person for general admission, $475 for the VIP reception with Jewel, and $2,500 for a 10-person table or six VIP tickets.
