“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” stars six high-society divas, including: Taylor Armstrong, Camille Grammer, Adrienne Maloof, Kim Richards, Kyle Richards, and Lisa Vanderpump. Unofficial housewives Brandi Glanville and Dana Wilkey also joined the social circle in Season 2, stirring up drama in their own style.
Kyle Richards is a child actor turned devoted wife and mother who seems to handle the hectic Beverly Hills lifestyle with the most compassion and composure of the group. Like many of the other housewives, Richards was born into a famous family destined for prosperity. Her first acting role was in Disney’s Escape to Witch Mountain at the young age of four, along with her older sister and co-star Kim Richards. The third sister is Kathy Hilton, the high-profile mother to socialites Nicky and Paris Hilton.
Although fame is in her blood, she doesn’t let it get to her head – or so she leads us to believe on the hit BRAVO show. Richards is happily married to the handsome Mauricio Umansky, a successful realtor, and together they live in Beverly Hills with their four daughters, Farrah (22), Alexia (15), Sophia (11), and Portia (3). Extravagance is the name of the game, but Richards keeps it relatively low-key as a hands-on mother with no nannies, stylists or personal chefs in sight. While that may seem normal to us, excessive help is expected in the infamous 90210 zip code.
In her new book Life Is Not a Reality Show, Richards reveals how she embraces success without getting stuck up, and shares tips on how you too can live a guilt-free life full of glitz, glamour, love and happiness. With topics ranging from family, men and entertaining, to beauty, hair and skincare, Richards discloses an array of lifestyle tips for achieving the ideal mix of celebrity and normality. It’s a straightforward book with a bold writing style, such as you would expect from this sassy housewife who is never afraid to speak her mind. Life Is Not a Reality Show has been compared to the popular no-nonsense women’s books from Kelly Cutrone, Bethenny Frankel and Jillian Michaels.
Calling all wannabe San Diego housewives, Richards is breaking out of the 90210 to hold a book signing at Warwick’s in La Jolla on Saturday, Feb. 11th starting at 4pm. This is a ticketed signing only event and books must be purchased from Warwick’s in order to be signed, according to the event website. Life Is Not a Reality Show is priced at $25.99.
