Local Sound: 2010 San Diego Music Award Winners

The 20th annual San Diego Music Awards filled Humphreys by the Bay with the incredibly diverse sound of the local music scene under a radiant late-summer night sky on Sunday, September 12, 2010.

As usual, proceeds from the San Diego Music Awards (SDMA) benefitted the San Diego Music Foundation’s Guitars for Schools program made possible by Taylor Guitars and the countless supporters through San Diego County. 

In front of a packed house on the stunning waterfront at Humphreys by the Bay, the SDMA show featured a stellar line-up of live performances from celebrated San Diego artists, including The Night Marchers, The Nervous Wreckords, Maren Parusel, New Mexico, Miss Erika Davies and Transfer. In addition to the live local sound, attendees were witness to a special Lifetime Award presentation to Iron Butterfly – San Diego’s original heavy metal band. 

SDMAs honored a wide variety of acts and genres in the local music scene, ranging from Best Tribute Band to Best Electronic, Best Club DJ, Best Hip Hop, Best Rock, Best Pop, Best Jazz, Best Alternative, Best New Artist, Song of the Year, Artist of the Year and many more.
