Celebrity Mashup: AMAs Recap & Romney Spotted

Who knew Mitt Romney was a Twihard? The former presidential candidate was spotted in San Diego on Saturday night. Romney took his wife Ann to an evening showing of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, followed by a casual pizza dinner. TMZ leaked fuzzy cell phone photos of the couple during their perfectly normal date night in Del Mar. Our guess is the dinner and movie took place at Cinepolis Luxury Cinemas and Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza within the Del Mar Highlands center. Romney owns an oceanfront home in La Jolla, and he clearly hasn’t heard of the new ArcLight theater now open at Westfield UTC.

Christmas came early for military spouses. The “Oprah Winfrey Show" may be over, but one of its best holiday traditions lives on. The media mogul flew 29 military wives and one military husband to Washington, D.C. and gifted them with her Favorite Things. Among the dozens of presents were Ralph Lauren sweaters, metallic Michael Kors high tops, a Tory Burch tote bag, and the big daddy, a Fiji island vacation at the Namale Resort and Spa, US Weekly reported. The two-hour special will re-air Friday, Nov. 23 on OWN.

The stars shined bright for the 40th annual American Music Awards Sunday evening at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. The AMAs are different from other awards shows because the fans vote for the winners. New this year was an added category for Electronic Dance Music which is undeniable in America. The show featured live performances by Usher, Taylor Swift, Pink, Ke$ha and Kelly Clarkson, among other pop acts.

Justin Bieber was the biggest winner of the night, taking home three awards including the coveted nod for Artist of the Year. The best moment had to be the finale performance from Psy. The real surprise came when MC Hammer took the stage for a mash-up of “Gangham Style” and “Too Legit to Quit.”
