Mission Brewery Hosts OktSoldierFest for the Warrior Foundation

Through the many Oktoberfest celebrations that give us opportunity to sample brews and embrace European drinking traditions, there is still a time to raise a glass to an important cause. Mission Brewery hosts OktSoldierFest, benefiting The Warrior Foundation on Saturday, October 22nd, with over 40 local breweries, eats, and entertainment to honor injured soldiers.

Three ticketing options are available at this year’s ‘fest: Front of the Line ticket, the VIP Brew Tasting ticket, and general admission. The Front of the Line pass includes line privileges to all brewery stops for the day and a private tasting in addition to the general brewery tasting. The VIP Limited Brew Tasting ticket allows access to the special 11:30am-1pm time slot when selected breweries will bring their “secret stash” to taste on a limited basis.  General admission is invited from 1pm-6pm at a $35 price. All tickets include sampling from over 40 breweries, a tasting cup, BBQ food voucher, and live music. Participating breweries include Alpine, Coronado Brewing Company, Green Flash Brewing Company, Pacific Beach Ale House and Shipyard.

Entertainment will accent the daytime festivities, with DJ 7EVEN spinning classics all day on the main stage, in between the bands Agave and Lexington Field.  The grub served up with the large selection of beer is all about the BBQ this year. Big Dev’s Down-Home Barbeque and Catering Services are bringing in some smoked tender beef sandwiches, barbeque chicken quarter, pulled pork, and Big Dev’s spicy rice.

Give back: The Warrior Foundation has long committed to their mission of assisting, honoring and supporting the military men and women, service members, and personnel who have bravely served and sacrificed for our country. In addition, the foundation vows to help the seriously injured who are assigned to Naval Regional Medical Center, Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital, 29 Palms and Fort Irwin as well as those who are going through rehabilitation in the San Diego area.
