No need to search out TLC for your reality show yang. You can now stop sending your video into “A Wedding Story” and overacting for your upcoming role on “Bridezilla.”
NBC San Diego in collaboration with The Prado in Balboa Park (a very sought after San Diego wedding location) are bringing locals their very own real San Diego wedding story.
Modeled after “Today Throws a Wedding,” San Diego’s version is “NBC Throws a Wedding at The Prado Contest” – local contestants need not do more than send in a one minute video pleading their case. Whether you tell a compelling story or are just too cute for words, you could smile your way to the perfect wedding in San Diego.
NBC and The Prado promise that the winners will receive the best local wedding vendors have to offer, including bridal boutiques, florists, photographers and more. Of course, The Prado will provide the food at the reception.
NBC will be accepting videos until August 9th. At that point they will view all of the videos and choose three couples who will then be whittled down to one by an online public vote.
After the winner is announced, NBC will air a segment each week that keeps the public up to date on the progress of the wedding. The couple will marry on October 9, 2009 at The Prado in front of their closest friends and family, and of course, the NBC San Diego cameras. The dream wedding will be aired at week later October 16th for the public to watch.
