The NFL Alumni San Diego Chapter announces the annual Charity Golf Classic Weekend from October 18-20, across San Diego County.

More than 60 NFL alumni greats will be on hand for the weekend's events benefiting Autism, American Baby Cancer, Employment and Community Options, Riverside Recovery, Rebuild San Diego, Bikes for Kids, Young Marines, Help Patrick Walk, The Dream Factory and more.

The annual Charity Golf Classic will be held on Monday, October 20th at Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club in San Diego at 8:00am. Five-man teams captained by a former NFL player will compete for a spot in the NFL Alumni's Super Bowl of Golf Championship to be held April 25, 2009 at Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Celebrities slated to attend the Golf Classic weekend include Ted Hendricks, Efren Herrera, Jay Johnstone, Billy Joe Hobert, David Grayson, Reggie Doss, Sam Cunningham, Willie Buchanon, Jim Allison, Michael Merriweather, Marv Fleming, and Don Most.

Several other fundraising events will take place during the NFL Alumni weekend. On Saturday, October 18 the chapter will host the Out of the Darkness 5K Walk at 9:00am at the De Anza Cove at Mission Bay Drive, and the NFL Alumni Bowling Tournament at Mira Mesa Lanes. On Sunday, October 19, the chapter will hold the NFL Alumni Bocce Ball Tournament at the Hilton Resort on Mission Bay from 11:00am until 4:00pm (Contact: Steve Cassarino, 619-933-3991), and the NFL Alumni Texas Hold 'Em Tournament at the Ocean's Eleven Casino in Oceanside from 11:00am until 4:00pm (Contact: Jeff Wayne, 760-494-0213).
