The esteemed Prado restaurant and the Balboa Park Food and Wine School are set to present a cornucopia of fall flavors with the 9th Annual Harvest Festival, a celebration of fine food, drinks, and entertainment from a selection of our favorite wineries and restaurants in San Diego.
Harvest Festival takes place on Thursday, October 2 from 5-9pm.
While the 2007 Harvest Festival was canceled due to the tragic events of last year's wildfires, this year San Diegans will again enjoy the city's finest bounty of food and drinks at the annual Harvest Festival.
From 5-9pm guests will embark on an adventure through the rich flavors of autumn, set in the picturesque Balboa Park amongst the warm colors of fall. The star of the show is the gourmet cuisine of The Prado's Executive Chef, Jeff Thurston. But guests mustn't fill up yet. More participating restaurants include: Venissimo Cheese Shop, Eclipse Chocolate, and Sushi on a Roll, providing sushi and rolling demonstrations paired with sake sipping.
The event will also feature tastings from more than 50 wines from vineyards, and guests are encouraged to meet local wine makers, sample exotic cocktails, liquors and beer and participate in cocktail demonstrations.
Now in its ninth year, the Harvest Festival is proud to announce new entertainment offerings, such as the Champagne & Chocolate Lounge, Outdoor Grilling Featuring Chef Harris Cavin of Kensington Grill, and Musical Performance by Ashley Matte.
Proceeds from the 9th Annual Harvest Festival will benefit the Balboa Park Trust. Head to Balboa Park on Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 5-9pm. Tickets are $59.95 per person in advance (plus tax) and $69.95 per person at the door (plus tax). For more information on the Harvest Festival, visit The Prado here.
