It’s safe to say that Gorillaz is the most successful virtual band in the entire world. Gorillaz is fronted by four totally disparate animated characters: pretty-but-vacant singer 2D, satanic bassist Murdoc Niccals, Japanese guitar prodigy Noodle and amiable man-mountain drummer Russel Hobbs. Their self-titled debut album was released to wide acclaim in 2000 and has been making waves in the music world ever since. Gorillaz introduced the world to the animated four-piece, with lead-off single Clint Eastwood scoring a massive hit worldwide, and the band's astonishingly inventive promos becoming a fixture on music television everywhere. After their debut hit single, Gorillaz began pouring out a myriad of Britpop tracks infused with a pinch of hip-hop and a dollop of dub which have included everything from Dare and Feel Good Inc. to Kids with Guns and Dirty Harry.

And if you didn’t think the world-famous digitally created four-man band was enough to float your boat, they’re bringing along N.E.R.D. for a very special guest performance. Short for 'No-one Ever Really Dies', N.E.R.D. is an American rock, metal and hip hop band headed by Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo who had been signed to Virgin Records as a duo, The Neptunes. After producing songs for several artists throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, the production duo formed the band with Shay Haley as a side project of The Neptunes in 2001.
