The A List is the exclusive membership group of the La Jolla Athenaeum Music & Arts Library, catered to the young and hip of San Diego seeking to bolster their culture points.
The Athenaeum will be hosting Raise the Bar, the latest A List event, on November 29, 2007. This event celebrates nightlife, or "bar" culture in La Jolla, infused with a jolt of art and history. Trust us, you've never had so much fun going to the library. The event will feature art, cocktails, beer, food, door prizes, and karaoke.
Nibble on food provided by the Whaling Bar, and drink the likes of Karl Strauss and VeeV Açaí Spirits. Jose Sinatra, best known for his popular karaoke nights at Winston's in Ocean Beach, will be leading the karaoke event.
Take in the artwork of internationally recognized San Diego artist Raul Guerrero who will be exhibiting his paintings and drawings of the iconic Whaling Bar, within the La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla.
This A List event promises to be an entertaining and fun alternative to your typical night out in San Diego. Membership to the A List is not mandatory, and nonmembers pay only $10 at the door. This cover includes food, drinks, and entertainment.
