To the delight of fans, "Iron Man" Robert Downey, Jr. made a surprise cameo during the Marvel Studios panel at ‘Con. Iron Man’s downtown pad of choice was the luxe Star Suite at the Andaz Hotel, and he was spotted having dinner and drinks at the hotel’s swanky restaurant Katsuya on Friday.
Also shacking up at the Andaz was Fifty Shades of Grey author E L James, who stayed in the Sweet Suite.
Down the street, The US Grant Hotel welcomed many high-profile guests for the weekend, including Tim Burton, Connor Cruise (without newly divorced dad in sight), and Ellen Pompeo of “Grey’s Anatomy” who, funny enough, wasn’t in town for Comic-Con. But rather, for a trip to the San Diego Zoo. Spotted in the hotel’s Grant Grill restaurant were “Dexter” stud Michael C. Hall and Elijah Wood.
The hilarious comedian / screenwriter Seth MacFarlane was spotted atop Ivy Rooftop at the Andaz Hotel on Friday night. His drink of choice? JD and coke. Music producer turned film director RZA (Wu-Tang Clan) was also seen in a Cabana Suite.

Quality Social was a top choice for Comic-Con celebrities this weekend. On Friday night, Ashley Green and Anna Kendrick from Twilight, Kristen Bauer von Straten from “True Blood,” and Magic Mike hottie Joe Manganiello posed for photos with fans and sipped ‘Con-inspired cocktails. Also seen at Q.S. was comedian and “Community” star Joel McHale, along with co-stars Gillian Jacobs, Yvette Nicole Brown and Allison Brie. And that’s not all; Lucy Lawless from “Xena: Warrior Princess,” Dave Franco of “Scrubs,” and Ben Lyons of E! Television all stopped by Q.S. for drinks and good times.
By day, the Hunger Games crew was seen grabbing lunch at Searsucker. Alexander Ludwig was joined by co-star Jack Quaid and six other friends. They ate sandwiches and sipped iced teas.
Over at BASIC Urban Kitchen + Bar in East Village, a crew of celebrities managed to grub and chill under-the-radar. Dax Shepard, Tom Arnold and Seth Green ordered pepperoni pizzas and hung out with friends at the warehouse-style hot spot.
The hottest ticket on Saturday night was the “True Blood” & Playboy party outside on J Street in the Gaslamp Quarter.
