The San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter of The American Red Cross announces a benefit concert, fashion show, and community awareness event aptly dubbed Rock 2 Eradicate, hosted in conjunction with Aubergine in downtown San Diego. This cutting-edge charitable event rocks downtown this Friday, October 19, 2007 starting at 8pm.
Created in the vision to intertwine live entertainment and inspiring philanthropy, this San Diego event will feature live local bands, a fashion show, a screening of a Measles awareness piece, and a raffle of gift certificates to some of the top venues in San Diego. DJ Marlino, Shark Attack, and Buddy Akai will rotate live on stage throughout the night, while a fashion show presented by Closet Gypsi Collections, K. Roque Jeans, and Villa Bella sweet talks the stylish downtown crowd.
The Measles Initiative, launched in 2001, is a long-term commitment and partnership among leaders in public health. This noble initiative supports the goal of reducing measles deaths globally by 90% by 2010, compared to 2000 estimates. Measles Initiative partners include the American Red Cross, UN Foundation, CDC, World Health Organization, and UNICEF.
Tickets to Rock 2 Eradicate are $10 for guest list and $20 at the door. For more ticket and event information, visit the San Diego Red Cross and Aubergine.
