Roll Out The Barrel for Make-A-Wish

You may have heard of the inspiring Make-A-Wish Foundation and the joy they have brought to over 200,000 children with life-threatening medical conditions by granting their wishes. While you may not be able to directly help a child meet Tony Hawk or be in a TV show, there is still a way to get involved with this amazing charity and help make wishes come true.

The San Diego Make-A-Wish Foundation is holding their signature Roll Out The Barrel event at Humphrey’s by the Bay on Saturday, May 14, starting at 5pm. This exciting food and wine fundraiser is set to include tastings from the finest local restaurants, artisan wine sampling, live entertainment, and an auction with unbelievable prizes. The San Diego Chapter has been able to grant nearly 3,000 wishes of San Diego children already, and this event will raise money to grant even more.

San Diego restaurants will be providing unlimited tastings of their signature dishes for all attending. Come taste the delicacies from Donovan’s, De Medici, The French Gourmet, Whisknladle, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, and many other top restaurants. Dessert tastings will be provided by Veronica’s Goodies, Chocolate Fountains of San Diego, and Cup Cakes Squared. Over 30 wineries will also be participating in this special event, with tastings from the likes of HALL wines and Castello di Bossi. Tastings from an additional 12 wineries, such as Charles Krug and Mirror Wines, will be available only to VIP ticket holders.

A live silent auction and raffle are scheduled to take place, with incredible prizes from California vendors. Items to be auctioned off include a Napa Valley getaway for three couples, a chance to be a fighter pilot for a day, a diamond and coral ring from The Diamond Boutique, a romantic sunset flight, four VIP Padres dug-out tickets, designer purses and watches, a Valley View Casino package and many more. The raffle will include such prizes as an iPad, fine wines, and a Microsoft Game System.

Roll Out The Barrel & Make Dreams Come True: Tickets are available at makeawishgala.com. General admission tickets cost $125, and VIP tickets are available for $200. The VIP tickets will provide you with an opportunity to mingle with special guests in the VIP donor lounge, experience rare wine tastings, and gain entrance to an exclusive post-event gathering. The dress code is casual cocktail attire, and this event is strictly for ages 21 and up. The event will be located at Humphrey’s by the Bay at 2241 Shelter Island Dr in San Diego.
