Sam the Cooking Guy Live in San Diego

While elaborate techniques and superfluous recipes might get some people far, Sam Zien, or Sam the Cooking Guy prefers to stick to his wit and simple style. And it’s done him quite well. After a humble start on our local morning shows, Sam propelled his career to a national series on Discovery Health Channel, published three books, and continues to appear as a Today Show regular. He also happens to hold 12 Emmys.

But the dozen of Emmys aside, this casual cooking guy makes two things a priority in his work: the food and the people. In Sam’s “Regular” Live Cooking Classes, audience members get a rare opportunity to watch him mimic his show onstage and eat and drink everything in an interactive production. His next big gig will take place on Saturday, Feb. 18th at the Joan B. Kroc Theatre.

Sam the Cooking Guy has grown a widespread audience that appreciates his motto of “big in taste, small in effort.” By using every day language and chatting with his followers as if they’re his friends, he’s gained a keen idea for what busy, everyday people need to be successful in the kitchen.

The on-stage production holds all the fun in Sam’s unscripted madness. On the program, he’ll include an interactive Q&A with his audience, give exclusive behind the scenes looks at his work, and show helpful video clips all while he works his magic right in front of you. Sam will also share his story that took him from an ordinary guy to a cooking sensation, baking, broiling, grilling, and simmering his way to the top. And it’s not just a solo act, either. Woody from Woody’s Liquid Kitchen will take the stage all the way from Sydney, Australia, joining Sam as an entertaining flair bartender.

Three seating levels are available for the show. General seating is still available for $60. Preferred seating includes a pre-show meet and greet, a Sam Live t-shirt, a copy of one of Sam’s books and reserved preferred seating for $150.
