The San Diego Hall of Champions presents much more than a collection of memorabilia celebrating former Padres and Chargers greats or local heroes like Ted Williams, though there’s plenty of that too. Hundreds of local athletes are remembered, who participated in more than 40 different sports ranging from skateboarding (i.e. Tony Hawk) to yachting.

In addition to display cases filled with vintage photos, uniforms, and equipment, the Hall offers and variety of hands-on interactive experiences, including a nifty Media Center where visitors can test their skills as a sports broadcaster. The Hall’s café is Balboa Park’s best kept secret for reasonably priced sandwiches and ice cream.
