The San Diego Museum of Art, San Diego’s first and largest fine arts museum, features an impressive collection of Renaissance and Baroque masters, Impressionism, 20th-century modernism, American art, an extensive Asian collection, and a growing contemporary collection. Among the highlights are important paintings by Giorgione, Murillo, El Greco, Goya, O’Keeffe, and Monet. Built in 1926, the museum’s ornate Spanish Renaissance-style architecture alone is worth a visit.

Nestled in the outdoor sculpture court, the museum café, run by Waters Fine Catering, offers a fresh selection of soups, sandwiches, and salads. In addition to hosting major traveling art exhibitions, SDMA presents a variety of evening programs, including the popular Culture & Cocktails social mixers.
