On August 14th, make your way down to Chula Vista and head back to the glory days of Spandex and Aqua Net. Poison is bringing glam rock back at Coors Amphitheater.
Fresh off his VH1 reality show, Rock of Love, Poison front man Bret Michaels is now out to promote Poison's new album "Poison'd". With old friends Ratt opening, you can be sure to get a great show. Whether the mullet in front of you is real or fake--it will definitely be entertaining.
Half of this music event is people watching. It begins in the parking lot. Get there early and tailgate--it's part of the Poison experience. Toss back some tall boys, and grill up some dogs on the hibachi as you and your buddies play catch while cranking "Nothin' But a Good Time" in your raised pick-up trucks. Don your favorite acid wash jeans and 80's hair metal vintage tee shirt--except for the Poison tee, of course (don't be that guy).
It's almost like an 80's themed party. Just be careful: the serious fans are just that--serious. Most of the time the irony goes right over their heads, but try not to be insulting.
And honestly? The best way to have fun at an event like this is to actually get into it. Think of it as your musical time machine. Although, it might be hard to keep a straight face when C.C DeVille busts out "I Hate Every Bone in Your Body But Mine".
