San Diego Street Scene 2007

Published : 7/27/2007 by Michelle Guerin

The San Diego entertainment scene is attracting an edging-on-admirable reputation for live music. In San Diego, music venues represent more than a lineup, they represent a thriving local culture and passion. From The Casbah to 4th and B, local stars emerge and national hits steal center stage every night in San Diego.

Beyond nightly basics, there's one weekend in San Diego where music is all that matters. Street Scene is an urban music festival that twists and turns the soul of San Diego throughout two packed days of nonstop mayhem. Regarded as the side-kick of Coachella, Street Scene has put California on the music map since its conception in 1984.

From a modest show in the early eighties to the height of 2007, San Diego Street Scene has evolved into a two-day multi-stage festival featuring premiere international artists. Yet, despite the acclaim--Street Scene remains deep in urban roots, representing the last party of summer for teens and adults across California.

2007 Street Scene in San Diego takes place September 22nd & 23rd, now back at Coors Amphitheater in Chula Vista. With one of the best lineups to date, in addition to a comedy stage, vaudeville performance acts, and interactive festival processions--aka beer gardens?--Street Scene 2007 is slated to be better than ever.

Grab your two-day pass and get ready to enter an evolving daydream of classic rock 'n roll beats, electronic synths, hip-hop vibes, reggae vibrations, and a local offering of raw, artsy punk innovation.

Channel rave auras and mosh-pit passions, it's time for the 2007 Street Scene lineup.
