With the fall season upon us, the time has come to trade in bikini tops and flip flops for knee-high boots and scarves.

Local shopping connoisseurs know that when it comes to fashion, San Diego is abundant with eclectic boutiques and designer mall stores offering up trendy snags for the fall. 

Following this September’s Simon Fashion Now at Fashion Valley, an event that honored fall fashion trends with runway shows, Westfield UTC La Jolla is launching its own style-filled weekend of events.

On the weekend of October 16 – 18, Westfield UTC will become one of six premier shopping centers across the U.S. to host Westfield Style Tour. Presented in partnership with Modelinia, the event will feature entertainment, fashion celebrations and one-on-one shopping consultations with celebrity stylists. 

Are you a Classic Sophisticate, Modern Bohemian, Contemporary Chic or Rule Breaker? 

Unless you’re Lady Gaga and fit into none of the above categories, let your inner diva do the talking for you. Upon visiting Westfield Style Tour, San Diego shoppers will take a brief survey to identify which shopping category they fall into. Based on personal results, visitors will then be escorted to their designated “Style Closet” where a high-profile celebrity stylist from Modelina will deliver a personalized “fashion recipe” outlining outfit and product suggestions available from UTC La Jolla retailers. 

Highlights of the three-day event include hands-on style presentations hosted by Laura Bennett of Project Runway Season 3 on Saturday, October 17th at 1pm and 4pm. In addition, celebrity stylists such as Rebecca Resnick whose clients include actors such as Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Tina Fey, as well as Gali Barazza whose clients include supermodels Jessica Stam, Doutezn Kroes and May Andersen will be in attendance to give shoppers specialized expertise and the ultimate celebrity experience. 

The free three-day fashion event also features discounts, special offers, beauty consultations, makeovers, TRESemmé product giveaways and hairstyle demonstrations, as well as a chance to win a trip to New York Fashion Week in February 2010.
